The San Antonio Water System (SAWS) is giving local customers a new electric water meter with technological advancements, including hourly transmitted data to SAWS and alerts sent directly to your devices. Not only could this prevent further damage, but as well keep you informed while away at work or even on vacation!
Here is step-by-step on how to identify a water leak on your meter:
- Shut off indoor + outdoor faucets
- Tap the optical sensing button and wait for the number to appear
- If the number is above zero, there’s a leak!
- Locate the leak and call Beyer plumber
*For a more accurate reading, write down the total current volume, then turn the water off for an hour, and see if the reading has changed.
